Janna Schurer is a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Global Health Equity where she develops One Health approaches to infectious disease research.  She earned her PhD in veterinary parasitology at the University of Saskatchewan and completed a 2-year Post-doctoral Fellowship at the Center for One Health Research at the University of Washington.  Her research and teaching reflect her strong interests in neglected tropical parasites, marginalized populations, economics, and capacity building.  She regularly works with non-governmental organizations, such as Veterinarians Without Borders and PATH, to evaluate the burden of zoonotic parasites in underserved areas.
