Description:

The foundation of this course is a 12-hour intensive and interactive language learning course that covers the basic Spanish communication tools needed to interact with clients. This course will cover: initial contact conversations; history taking; explaining diagnostic tests and results; describing medications and home care instructions; finance vocabulary; and, common diseases and clinical scenarios. These classes will occur via Zoom on Tuesday afternoons.

The remaining 28 hours will be self-styled to tailor to your interests and schedule. Opportunities for credit will include self-directed learning, peer Spanish conversation sessions, clinical rounds, and clinical experiences.

Previous Spanish experience and/or knowledge is not required. The language learning portion will be tailored to students’ knowledge levels.
