Student-led workshops offer veterinary students, faculty and staff a supportive community that helps them thrive in veterinary school and throughout their careers.

Cummings Thrive is a student-led club that runs monthly workshops throughout the year intended to introduce participants (students, faculty, staff) to important concepts that will help them thrive in veterinary school and during their professional lives. Each monthly workshop will focus on a concept, includes large and small group activities, didactic discussion, and time for reflection. These concepts include, but are not limited to: Emotional Intelligence, Self Awareness, Resilience and Determination, Physical and Mental Health Awareness, Team building / Team communication, Conflict Management, Personal Leadership, and Advocacy in Leadership. In addition to the workshop, the club participants will stay connected and engaged with each month’s topic via emails throughout the entire month. With this format, participants have the opportunity to develop their own voices of opinion and build an open and supportive community they can rely on for encouragement and inspiration. Even more, these workshops provide the foundation for participants to become leaders and role models in our community.
